The Scale-up route starts with qualifying sponsored employment and can provide more flexibility later than the standard Skilled Worker route.
Who this route suits
Skilled workers with qualifying offers from approved scale-up businesses.
Initial sponsorship period
For the first six months, the visa holder must work for the sponsoring scale-up employer. A high salary threshold applies.
After six months
After completing the initial sponsored period, Scale-Up visa holders are no longer tied to their sponsor and can work for other employers or be self-employed.
