Eligible institutions and programs
Not all Canadian schools and programs qualify. IRCC maintains a list of Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) whose graduates may apply. Certain programs have additional field-of-study and program-length requirements.
Duration
PGWP duration can range from 8 months to 3 years depending on the length of the qualifying program.
Language requirement
A minimum language level is required. Language test results must be included with the PGWP application.
Path to permanent residence
PGWP experience is commonly used to qualify for the Canadian Experience Class through Express Entry.

- No. The PGWP is issued once per graduate. You cannot get a second PGWP for additional study.

- No. The PGWP is an open work permit. You do not need a job offer.
