UK High Potential Individual Visa
The High Potential Individual route does not require a UK job offer at the application stage. It is time-limited and is not itself a direct route to settlement.

Eligible qualifications
The qualification must be from a globally ranked university on the approved HPI list and must have been awarded within five years before the application.
Duration
The visa lasts two years for most graduates (changing to 18 months from January 2027) and three years for doctoral graduates. It cannot be extended.
Switching to another route
Many HPI holders use the time to find employment and switch to a Skilled Worker visa before the HPI expires.
