Care Workforce Work to Residence Visa
This pathway is for workers who complete the required New Zealand employment in approved care roles and meet the current employer, wage, age, language, health, character, and residence conditions.
General information only. Approved care roles and conditions change. Immigration NZ makes the final decision.
Approved care roles
This pathway targets workers in New Zealand's aged care, disability support, and similar care occupations. The list of approved roles is maintained by Immigration New Zealand.
Employment and wage requirements
Workers must be employed in an approved care role, earning at or above the required wage threshold, for the required period before applying for residence.
Not for all healthcare workers
This pathway is specifically for care workforce roles — generally support and care workers rather than registered health professionals. Registered professionals may qualify through the Green List or Skilled Migrant Category.
