Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program

Ontario uses several nomination streams for workers, graduates, and selected Express Entry candidates. Some require an Ontario job offer while others identify candidates through federal profiles or provincial priorities.

General information only. Stream availability and requirements change. The provincial authority and IRCC both make decisions in the nomination and permanent residence process.

Enhanced and base streams

OINP offers both Enhanced streams linked to Express Entry and base provincial streams. Enhanced nominations add 600 CRS points to a federal profile. Base streams follow a separate application process leading directly to a federal permanent residence application.

How to apply

Most provincial streams require an Expression of Interest or online application. Some streams are employer-driven, others draw from a registered candidate pool, and some are invitation-only. Check the current stream status on the official provincial website before applying.

After nomination

Once nominated, you apply to IRCC for permanent residence. The federal government reviews the application and makes the final decision. A provincial nomination does not guarantee federal approval.
