Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa (Subclass 482)

Short-Term Stream

Stay up to 2 years (4 years if an International Trade Obligation applies).

Medium-Term Stream

Stay up to 4 years. Occupation must be on the MLTSSL or ROL. Provides a pathway to permanent residency after 3 years with the same employer.

Labour Agreement Stream

For employers with a Labour Agreement. Allows sponsorship in roles not on the standard occupation lists.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Meet English language requirements
  • Hold adequate health insurance
  • Satisfy health and character requirements

Employer Requirements

  • Approved Standard Business Sponsor (SBS) or Labour Agreement
  • Demonstrate no suitable Australian worker available
  • Meet training benchmarks and salary obligations
